Continuous Integration

What is Continuous Integration?

Continuous Integration (CI) is a development practice that requires developers to integrate code into a shared repository several times a day. Each check-in is then verified by an automated build, allowing teams to detect errors quickly and locate them more easily.

Continuous Integration is the practice of building and testing source code frequently. This provides rapid feedback to developers about their changes, and isolates commits for easy troubleshooting when the build fails.

Continuous delivery extends CI by automatically deploying qualified builds to testing environments.

How does Test Triangle implement CI using the Atlassian tool stack?

JIRA is an issue and project management tool from Atlassian. It allows you to start the development activity by creating branches right from JIRA issues/requirements, keeps track of build run from the issue, and also allows you to create issues straight from the failed builds.

Stash is the on-premises Git repository management solution for enterprise teams. It allows everyone in your organization to easily collaborate on your Git repositories.

Bamboo is a CI server. It automatically builds and tests software, whenever a developer makes changes.

Test Triangle provides expert services in implementing CI services for your organization. As an Atlassian Expert we use Atlassian tools (JIRA, Stash, & Bamboo) to implement CI solutions.
